Unveiled at the Detroit International Auto Show last January, the Infiniti QX50 Concept is a prototype vehicle that points to the future direction of the Infiniti brand, both in terms of design and technology.
Stylish and Dynamic Design for the Infiniti QX50 Concept
The Infiniti QX50 Concept is a midsize sport utility vehicle that does not seem to be very far off from a production model, and according to the Japanese manufacturer, the model that will be eventually launched on the market will be very similar to concept presented in Detroit. Designed using Infiniti's Powerful Elegance design language, the QX50 Concept has muscular lines and a robust overall appearance, but at the same time it definitely has an air of refinement and luxury about it.
In terms of technology, the Infiniti QX50 Concept will be offered with the latest Infiniti-developed autonomous driving features. The manufacturer did not elaborate much on the exact features that will be offered in the production QX50, but still claimed that the driver assistance systems offered on the QX50 Concept are designed to leave control to the driver, while being able to intervene when necessary to ensure better safety, but also better performance.
A First Application for the New Infiniti VC-T engine
The QX50 Concept may well be the first Infiniti model to receive the all-new VC-T variable compression engine. This unique Infiniti engine required more than 20 years of development, and is the only engine capable of varying its compression ratio to provide better performance, or better efficiency, depending on the driver's needs.
The next Infiniti QX50 could be introduced to the market before the end of the year. For more information, contact us today at Spinelli Infiniti!
